Our Mission

Build the builders

Our objective at SAF is to build a future-forward technical workforce for Nigeria by connecting young people to practical skills, structured training, and real opportunities — starting with clean energy and expanding across the sectors that shape tomorrow.

We:

SAF is an urgent and necessary response to Nigeria’s broken educational pipeline — especially in the realm of technical and vocational education.

While polytechnics were originally designed to produce skilled, hands-on professionals, many have lost relevance and dignity. The push to convert these institutions into universities is a reflection of how both students and society now perceive value — not in the depth of skill, but in the prestige of the certificate.

Our broader educational system is stuck in tradition, underfunded, and disconnected from the evolving needs of the world. Young people are turning to YouTube to learn modern skills, not because it’s ideal — but because it’s often the only viable path. For most, that path lacks structure, mentorship, or real opportunity for depth and income.

SAF doesn’t seek to replace existing institutions, but to rally the system — industry, academia, and government — toward a coordinated, practical response. We facilitate the partnerships, systems, and structure required to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s young people.

Because when young people are left without purpose, relevant skills, or economic opportunity — we don’t just lose productivity; we invite crisis. Our end goal is that SAF becomes unnecessary — that the system becomes so functional, innovative, and equitable, it no longer needs a uniting force like us.

Until then, we’ll keep building the builders.
